Why did Postman erase all my collections?

On a Mac, I can confirm that on creating an account all data is lost. It wasn’t synced to my newly created account, neither could I find it under Settings > Scratchpad (there is no link to Scratchpad).

For me, signing out of the account brought back my collection and environments (and other customization like Dark theme, etc).

It is insane that this issue is still open even after so many complaints over the years. It’s probably an indicator of where Postman is headed.

Thanks, postman. Here is the middle finger for you.

There should at least be a warning for the first time one logs into postman locally saying “Back up all of your collections NOW because we are about to delete them all with no trace.” This is an incredibly frustrating bug, and extremely disappointing that this has been an issue for two years with no remediation. Like someone else mentioned, just sign out and things should come back

Mac user here and migrating away from Insomnia which has become too slow and buggy for any real professional use. I had been working with Postman without signing in until I finally decided to create an account for team collaboration and was a little shocked by this behavior. I really thought I’d lost all my collections, settings, and environments, then I logged out to see everything return.

Thank you Postman for a great app, I really enjoy its flexibility and stability. This one feels much like a miss, hopefully, you’ll be able to fix it for future users.

I created a team because I thought it would be good to share my work with colleagues.

Unfortunately after I created a team the local mac app wouldn’t let me login and was forcing me to downgrade to version 9 (from 10.x) - see screenshot below. So I had to login online and delete the team. After I was able to log back in to postman v10 - now all of my data is gone…

I looked at backup**.json files, but the newest backup is ~18 months old. I was logged in before so I don’t understand why my data wasn’t synched to the cloud.

Or was my data moved to the team and then deleted? Is there anything you can do to help?

Environment Details
macOS: 12.6 (.latest)
Postman: Version 10.0.32 (.latest)

I keep all my collection synced. However after the vacation when I opened my postman app today, it asked me to re-login since the session had expired. However, after logging back in, I do not see any of my collection, completely none. How can I get my collections back?

Thanks, @altimetry-specialis1. I have fixed my issue by using Scratch Pad.

p.s @postman, this issue still exists.
