Why can't I see variables on a Send Request in Flow?

Here’s an outline with best practices for making your inquiry.

My question: Why can’t I see variables to connect other nodes to this Send Request? Why does mine look different from the Stock Market Example? I’m not on a paid version.

How I found the problem:

I’ve already tried:
I’ve added variables at all levels, with and without Environments.

The variables section of the Send Request block only displays variables used in the request that is selected.

In the Stock Market Example, ticker name and Analysis-url are variables used within the “Get Price and Analysis for stock” request.

Thank you, so where would I put variables in the block to have them show up? I have tried multiple ways and I’m sure it’s simple I just can’t find any info about it.
