Out of the blue (it has been working for months) Postman wouldn’t start. I copied the 2 AppData folders so I think I have a copy. I uninstalled and installed the latest version. It starts but apparently is looking at the state of things on my website account.
It is easy to see that this version is not up-to-date. I don’t know if I had to push/save a copy but whatever happened my recent changes are in limbo.
Is there a way to recover my items from my local backup? I suspect something got corrupted so it may not be but if there is anything that I can read with a text editor that reminds me of the names and ideally the values it would help me rebuild things.
Hey @tom-leylan
Welcome to the Postman Community!
All of your latest sync’d changes would be present on the web version (https://go.postman.co) is this not showing you everything now?
The differences turned out to be extremely minor. I had renamed a folder so that was easy after all. And the changes are there now. Could have been related to my local postman issues when it wouldn’t start.
Thanks much.
Now I should probably look into why my account name is joint-operations-ge3
That’s an automatically generated name created due to you not having a username in your Postman user profile.
If you head over to your Postman profile via the app interface and add that, it should show in Discourse.

Sorry to bother you but I updated my postman profile and edited the username. As you can see the image changed but so far the username is still the “joint” one.
Could you try logging out from the Community and in again please?
I should have thought of trying that… thanks it worked.
