As of April 1st, 2026, following a system restart and Postman update, I have lost access to all local collections and environments. The application appears to have forced a migration to the new Workspace-centric UI, but the process is failing.
Observed Behaviors:
-
Data Visibility: All previous collections have disappeared. The sidebar shows no data despite months of local work.
-
Infinite Loading: Attempting to access or create a Workspace results in a perpetual loading spinner.
-
Authentication Loop: Creating a new workspace triggers a login prompt that, once completed, loops back to the login screen without granting access.
-
UI Regression: The “Back to Lightweight API Client” button is non-functional; clicking it results in no state change.
Environment:
-
OS: macOS (Post-restart)
-
Postman Version: v12.x
I can provide a screen recording… but “new users can’t provide attachments” ?
Hey @huy-1a1681af
Welcome to the Postman Community!
Did you previous have an account before this update? Which version were you previously using?
Are you able to access your account in the web version?

Hi Danny, thanks for the follow-up.
I was able to successfully access the web version, where I found that the majority of my collections had already been synced. To get back to a functional workflow, I’ve installed the Postman Desktop Agent, which seems to have restored most of the features and data I need for now.
It’s not a 100% recovery, as the desktop app that crashed still holds some unsaved temporary files, but the web version is a viable workaround for my current tasks. I suspect I was running v11 and hadn’t restarted my MacBook in quite a while; the jump to v12 (which I see rolled out in March) likely triggered this conflict upon reboot. I’ll be sticking with the web interface for the time being to avoid further issues with the desktop client.
