This is my first (and also last) post and i usually do not do this, except in cases where Developers are āblindā.
Iām a Developer myself that occasionally uses Postman, e.g. once every few weeks or months as I have to interact with REST at some point as itās a standard. Postman is the ToGo solution for me for a decade (?) now.
I have had this multiple times installed/uninstalled also because i see it as totally bloated and overkill for my use case.
Iām not a Pro-User. Iām really the AVERAGE DEV in a enterprise company that uses this.
Let me tell you: The User Experience has gotten consecutivly worse over the years. I just need to Post/Get some endpoints, sometimes with headers or authentication and thatās it. This is what the vast majority needs to do as well.
But the UI is hammered with sh*t i never need, use, want or in any capacity can relate to. For me this is like Windows11 pre-installed with 1GB of Xbox and Dell bloat that just kills the performance and clutters my system. It makes things also extremely overcomplicated and inaccessible for newcomers to say the least. They are slammed into the ground when they use this for the first time and have no clue how to just get a basic request out for half an hour+.
This is a very unpleasant experience, especially basically forcing making a Postman.com account. I do not want that. I did this cause i needed to use the app nothing else and i couldnt easily identify a ānoā button. Iāam not alone with this. This is an experience you usually have only with annoying scam-ware that tries to sell you underhanded an AV subscription because you accidentally failed to identify a āskipā button. This is the Postman experience now.
My professional request from someone working in IT for years:
You guys should seriously consider releasing a āMinimal Postmanā. That is like 5-15Mb in size (?) and that only does the core stuff most users actually need. None of that Account BS. None of that advanced Testing and features only 5% of the Userbase actually make use of.
Thank You!
