Postman Desktop Agent Installation

Hey guys! I’m new to Postman and to web development. I’m trying to paste a link in the GET section, but it requires me to use Desktop Agent. I installed it on my computer, but after trying to install it, it just closes, and the installation never gets done. I tried troubleshooting it by restarting my computer, reinstalling the downloader, running the installer as an administrator, and taking other steps that can be easily researched on the web. Any idea how I can do this? Thank you!

Hey @angeloaborque :waving_hand:

What is the request you’re pasting into the URL menu bar? Are you using Postman on the web? Have you use the desktop client?

Could you provide some more visual examples of what you have in front of your please?

The Desktop Agent is something that runs in the background and doesn’t “open” a UI. Once its running you can select that Agent from the list in the bottom right of the web platform window.

Here is what I see on my end after installing the Desktop Agent. It shows me an “x” mark below the website and on my tray it only shows the Postman Agent icon. However, I still cannot send the link as it is saying that the Desktop Agent is unavailable

Hmm, not sure what’s happening there - Have you tried restarting your machine, signing out of Postman and in again or trying a different browser? Those might be simple things to do but it might help here.

Are you using the web version due to some limitations or a different reason?

You could download the Desktop Client from here:

You wouldn’t request any seperate Agents to make local requests with this client, The web platform uses the Postman Agents to make local requests and to solve some of the CORS based issues with making requests from the browser.

If you still require the web platform, a more direct download link for the Postman Agent can be found on our site:
