Moving folder and requestes between collections suddenly not working

Hello Postman Community,

Since today, I’ve been experiencing an issue where I am unable to move requests or folders between collections or even between folders within the same collection. This functionality was working fine before, and I’m not sure what might have changed.

Details:

  • Postman Version: [Include your Postman version here, e.g., v10.0.0]
  • Operating System: [Include your OS details here, e.g., Windows 10, macOS Monterey]
  • Steps Taken:
    1. Tried dragging and dropping requests from one collection to another.
    2. Attempted moving folders between different collections.
    3. Restarted Postman and my computer to see if it resolves the issue.
    4. Checked for any updates and ensured I am using the latest version of Postman.

Observations:

  • The drag-and-drop functionality seems to be unresponsive.
  • No error messages are displayed; the items simply do not move.

Questions:

  1. Is there any known issue with the current version of Postman that might be causing this?
  2. Are there any settings or configurations that I might need to adjust to enable this functionality again?
  3. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Which version of Postman are you using? Is this the Desktop or the Web platform?

Have you tried clearing the cache and reloading from the main menu bar?

Is this only on existing Collections or also on newly created Collections?

Are you able to provide a short recording of what you’re experiencing so that we can see the problem you’re facing?

I have the same issue but I’m unable to post a video being a new member

all I get is “could not move items”, I can move within collections but not between

I’m just dropping in here to say that I received the video from @breellz over email, appreciate that.

I’ve been able to replicate this and I’ve reached out to the team to get more information.

Would you be able to confirm if you can move requests between Collections, while in a Personal Workspace?

Yes, it works in personal workspace

We have added a fix for this and it well be released in a future version.

I will update the thread once I know which one this will be.
