My “team” is only two people. We do not have team/shared workspaces, only PERSONAL workspaces. All of our environments and collections aren’t shared. We don’t use any other features of Postman. We were on the Free Tier and had our own individual workspaces and collections, nothing shared, and we do not need to pay money to “share” the 30-some-odd collections we each personally maintain.
I left the team on March 1st thinking that I would keep my PERSONAL workspaces, but I lost access to all of them–even though I was the only one who had access to them, they were all transferred to my “teammate”. My “teammate” added me back to the “team” so I could get my collections back under the Enterprise Trial license. I exported some workspaces, but not all of them, because the only feature I can find only allows for exporting collections.
Today, I lost all of my workspaces again despite STILL being in the team and still having the Enterprise Trial license. I was removed from all workspaces again, and my “teammate” had to add me back.
How do I export all of my workspaces so I can have the requests I spent the past 6 years creating? Because we are legacy, we have to pay for features that new accounts would get for free. I’m not sure I want to suddenly pay to sponsor your push for internal AI development and features that I can migrate to Devops.
I paid 1300$ to upgrade to a “Team” subscription. It was not at all obvious that I would need to move all of my data from my previous workspace to another. There was no option to automatically migrate my data. I was told in the AI chat that I have to export one collection at a time. Why is there no workspace level export? Upon exporting the JSON and then importing it, I find that all of my URI’s are deleted and none of my environment variables migrated. This is a huge fail. What a mess.
Hey @neiltimmerman
Welcome to the Postman Community!
I fear that there is a bunch of context missing from this that will make it difficult to know exactly what happened for you.
If you were upgrading a previous Team that you had been using, I’m unsure of the need to move data to different Workspaces?
With exporting any data from Postman, if it’s not been saved or you have unshared variables, those will not be part of any exported file.
Hey @jmichaudjss
When you create assets while in a Team, they belong to the Team. The visibility of the Workspace (Internal, Private, Public, etc) doesn’t really matter.
When you left the team on the 1st March, you would have been given a set of options to make any explicit action about your data in the team, which option did you take?
I don’t have the full context to know what is happening on that team now with enabling a trial and moving things over to other places. Can you share more details about that and some visual examples of the issues?
I’m not sure what you mean by this?
Hi Danny,
I think your first sentence explains what happened. All of my Workspaces were created when I was in the Team. When I left the Team, I chose “Keep my personal workspaces” but was only left with the very first collection I created when I was not part of that Team.
If I go to that page now, I only see the first two options: "
Is there a way for me to assign the Workspaces that I created and weren’t shared to my own personal account, then leave the Team through option “Keep my personal workspaces” and keep everything? Or would the only option be for me to copy every collection and environment out of the Team structure and reimport when I have my own personal account?
For my last comment, I read that I would have to pay for the ability to use a Runner on my legacy account if it switched to a Free tier. If I create a new account on the Free tier, then I can use a Runner feature without paying. Did I read this correctly, or is the ability to use a Runner now behind a paywall for all accounts?
Thank you
