Why are updates rolled out almost every day?

The updates rolling out every other day is irritating. Why can’t you do a monthly or atleast weekly release. Having to update 100 times with almost no new feature is seriously a time killer for professionals. Please consider this feedback

To better understand what’s happening on your end, could you help me with a couple of quick questions?

  • Is this causing any disruption or blocking you from continuing a specific workflow?
  • Do you see a popup or message in your usual view prompting the update?
  • Do the release notes give you the context you need about what’s changed in each version?

From what I’ve seen on my side, the app doesn’t usually display a blocking popup. I only notice an available update when checking settings. Is your experience different?

I’m used to open Postman, do what I have to do and then close it due to the big amount of memory it requires to run. Then I close it until I will need it again.
Almost every time I open it is requesting to update - even twice a day - and this is irritating…

Postman has repeatedly interrupted my workflow with their daily updates. I have switched to Bruno for most of my work stations, but have yet to switch completely. I advise you to do the same.

Either Postman is riddled with vulnerabilities that need to be patched daily or their release process is broken, either way, it breaks the trust in the product, which is already quite low after years of bloat.

You mentioned the word bloat, what gives you the impression of that - Is it features that you don’t find valuable or something different?

Did you have some specific examples of the high memory usage that you have faced while using Postman on your machine?

Is it an update modal that pops up that prevents you from doing your work or a something in the settings reminding you that an update is available?

I see an update popup every single day on the MacOS app. I have reported this before, but it was ignored. While it may be nice for you to have Continuous Delivery, for us the end users it’s very annoying. I do not want to see a popup every day

This isn’t a great experience for you - could you confirm that this popup is something that you manually need to do something with? Type in a password or use your fingerprint?

If that is the case, have you followed the steps listed here?

Thank you for the reply @danny-dainton! I followed the steps, I will observe if I still get notifications/ popups. Both MacOS and the Postman app were showing popups that I needed to manually confirm.
