Thanks for the update.
One “major” issue… sorting in Environements is a mess…
Hey @pocketware ![]()
Welcome to the Postman Community! ![]()
I appreciate that you would like to share certain feedback on different parts of the platform but could I please ask that you fully explain the current problem for you, in your context and what you would like to see in the product to help here. ![]()
It will give the team a clearer understanding of the full problem and not have to guess. ![]()
After the update the order of items in Environments isn’t in alphabetical order anymore, but in order of created.
Example:
How to reproduce:
Create a new workspace (or open an existing).
Create new environments in non alphabetical order.
Hi @pocketware
,
Thank you for the feedback. Is there a reason why you want the environments listed in a certain order? The order in which the environments are displayed does not impact how they are used as long as you set the right environment as “active” in the Workspace. Is this an organizational preference? Would love to learn about your use case.
Hi @gbadebo-bello ,
When you have 100+ environments, like we currently do, it’s impossible to easily find things. This list was previously sorted alphabetically and now it appears to be sorted by created date ASC. Please revert this to sort by Alpha please.
Thanks!
Hi @chrishvr,
This is valid feedback and I’m forwarding this feedback to the team. Would you be able to share more information on the structure of your environments and what they are for?
I’m trying to get an idea of what your workspace structure looks like and why your team has so many environments. This will be helpful information for us.
For example, some teams prefer to have environments for: test, development, staging, production. While some may prefer other paradigms. What is the preference in the case of your team?
Hello,
I have around 100 different environments to connect to API’s we create for different clients.
Name convention: ClientCode-DeploymentEnvironment.
For example: NOR-PRD, NOR-ACC, NOR-TST, NOR-DEV, NOR-Local
Like @chrishvr already said, it’s hard to find the existing one when you need to change something.
Hey @pocketware ![]()
A fix for sorting of the environment names back to alphabetical order has been added and will be part of the next release.
Appreciate that it was initially frustrating to see the list on your side change after the upgrade. ![]()
Edit:
The fix is restore the order will be part of v12.0.4
Hey ![]()
Version 12.0.4 should now be available, can you update your versions and check the environment order please? ![]()
Thanks!
Sorting of environments has been fixed.
