Cannot activate Enviroments

Hi there, I am trying to activate enviroments and but whatever i tried seems that is not working. I checked for conflicts and everything seems to be ok. I export and import the collection again not activated. Clearing the Cache is optional because is going to clear all data. I changed and delete and re-create enviroments but still is not working.Any ideas? thx

Hey @flight-candidate-665

Welcome to the Postman Community! :postman:

Could you explain what you mean by activate environments, please?

Not sure I follow what you’re trying to do here - Is this related to the variable that you have in the URL?

If you see an “X” next to the environment name, will not activate the enviroment even if i selected one from the drop down menu

You might need to explain that with an image.

From your previous image, I can see that you have the Production environment selected. When you hover over the variable in the URL, does that show you the correct value that you added for that environment?

Well it shows the variable from the collection not from the enviroment, that’s the thing. How do i make it change to the proper enviroment.

Do you have a variable with the same name baseUrl1 in the Environment file?

The best way to see all the variables is by selecting the icon to the right of the environment dropdown. You might need to expand the list to see variables from all the scopes.

I got the list for all varibales and i do not have the same baseUrl name for both.

That’s the reason for it not taking the value from the environment.

If they were the same name, the environment value would be used as it’s a narrower scope.

So i suppose every varibale must be it’s in a narrower scope or no.Still i get the X in the top right corner not the eye icon. It is that a matter?

I would recommend reading through the links from the learning center to understand how variables can be used.

The X in the icon, would be for variables that are used in the Collection but are unresolved. As in, the placeholder for a variable is present in the Collection/Folder/Request but there is no active scoped variable for that placeholder.

Thanks a million you are awesome.
