Adding shared team files to a request

I have read both of these posts (documentation, not able to see upload files button), and we have tried several things:

  • The documentation is wrong, it does not show a button to upload a team file in either the app or the web ui when uploading a file from the request. Clicking the select files button in either ui, pops up a select files system dialog:
  • Adding the files into the request directly
    • App UI: This adds the files pointing to our local hard drive, which is not what we wanted. We have users on both windows and mac, and the pathing is not the same.
    • Web UI: This seemed to add the files in a shared manner with a path that looked generated, however, it did work.
  • Setting the shared directory
    • We set the shared directory, and added the files manually to the directory. This still did not work.

In both cases we get this error:

Which version are you using there?

We am using

  • postman enterprise on windows: ## v11.23.0
  • Co-worker 1 who was helping me, is using mac version: ## v11.37.5

Both of us get the same dialog.

On the browser, adding the files we get the same exact UI. We are both using the latest chrome.

This looks like a break/fix issue, so I will open a support ticket on your behalf to have them dive in and try to find a resolutions.

Thanks @ms-cs-postman, any idea on when a fix may possibly be released? We are supposed to be sharing a workspace with a client, and one of the requests uses files.

If not anytime in the immediate future, we will need to tell them how to manually add files from their local machine.

Hi @tim-cartwright. Thanks for reaching out. This behavior is unexpected in the main flow. It is however the correct behavior for our Lightweight API Client. Can you confirm you and your coworker are signed in?

When signing out I was able to reach the screen you posted earlier in the thread.
