Hey @satellite-geoscient7 :wave:t2:

Welcome to the Postman Community :postman:

Could you provide more information and context please?

Have you ever been able to open Postman? Which version was that? Were you signed into an account?

Are you using the Web or Desktop Platform? Are you using on a company network or behind a VPN?

Can you access your account via https://go.postman.co ?

I’m trying to open it on my desktop but it won’t open, I can’t tell exactly what is happening, suddenly it stopped working.
i have Windows 11
postman version 11.2.0

I am having a similar problem on Windows 10. I have been previously able to run the Desktop. I came to use it a number of days ago and it would not work. I have since uninstalled and reinstalled which appears to have given me 11.3.0.

On installation a splash screen appears briefly and then no other information confirming installation. Icons are added in my menu and on the screen which suggest it installed correctly.

Running these icons starts two Postman tasks but nothing appears on the screen. I can access the web version but testing on a local app does not work easily to localhost. I did get the agent working at one point but have forgotten how I did that.

Hi Rawad, were you able to open the application ? Did you re-installed it and restore collections by any chance ? Suddenly it stopped working on my computer today, I am using Windows 11 and Postman version 11.3.2.

Kind regards

Could you follow the steps below to see if this helps resolve the issue:

  • Force close any Postman processes if running through Task-manager.
  • Next navigate to the two locations below and rename the “Postman” folder to “Postman.old”
    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming
  • Launch the application

Thank you Raj,
Your solution work for me. I couldn’t start postman with latest update 11.4 on windows 10.
Now it’s alright.
May i delete those renamed folders now ?

Glad to know that helped!
Yes, you may delete those renamed folders once you login to the application and verify the synced entities like collections, environments and other.

Alright, perfect.
Thank you very much.

It worked after making some changes. I renamed the folders as suggested, reinstalled the new version of Postman for Windows x64, and then renamed the new C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Postman folder to Postman.new. I restored the Postman.old folder to Postman.

I believe this allowed me to restore my collections and payloads locally.

Thanks for the support Kurmavatar!
