I need to preface that I am not an end-user. I’m trying to resolve an issue for a few of my employees. I’m the network engineer for the company and have been tasked with trying to resolve the problem.
My Google-Fu may not be as strong as others but I have not found anything online that could help us with this issue. My sincerest apologies if this has been discussed, please feel free to redirect me.
The employees cannot launch Postman while connected to our corporate VPN. The desktop app works fine while not connected.
They get the following information in the app when launching:
Unable to connect to our servers
Check if your internet connection is stable. If you are using a firewall or a proxy server, disable it or whiltelist getpostman.com and then retry. If the problem persists, try again after some time. (Error code: 105)
Then there are the two buttons of Go to Lightweight API Client and Try Again
OS: Ubuntu 18.04
Postman Version: 10.24.16
VPN Client: PaloAlto GlobalProtect 6.0.7-372
I have been able to reproduce the same issue with a VM of the same OS and application versions. What is extremely confusing to me is that our VPN allows for split tunneling so anything not destined for our network doesn’t enter the tunnel interface of the end-user’s laptop.
I don’t see anything blocked on our VPN concentrator or firewall because that traffic isn’t destined for our network. Other than the DNS request, I wouldn’t expect to see anything due to the split tunneling anyways.
We’re all a bit confused but we’re hoping someone may be able to help us out.
