The Postman Drop: November Edition

Hi @abhijitkane1,

I wanted to share an idea for Postbot that could enhance its data analysis capabilities. It might be asking a lot, but this could be a game-changer. Imagine being able to send a response to OpenAI for deeper analysis or insights. It would make tasks so much easier.

Here’s my current challenge: I often fall blame for missing data in the CRM portal I built using APIs connected to the main portal. Since it’s still in beta testing with clients, data is often missing (due to encoding issues or null values), making it difficult to report problems effectively to the staff portal developer.

To tackle this, I created a Postman Grid Expandable Visualizer with a searchable, dynamically expanding nested grid. It’s been a huge help.

However, while Postbot can find specific details like an email address, it struggles with more complex responses. Often, it suggests creating scripts, which can be inconvenient at times. Additionally, it added test scripts that consistently resulted in errors, requiring manual adjustments.

That said, Postbot is amazing, and I’ve learned so much from using it. I believe adding such features could take it to the next level.

Thanks for asking
GT

Thanks @gladwingt - that makes sense. Feedback taken

One thing you can try - use the “Can you explain” prefix to get Postbot to answer questions around your response. Responses may be masked before sending to OpenAI (so you may not get detailed responses), but it should help with some queries.

Noted on this @abhijitkane1, some are working! I don’t think about data privacy and masking, but it’s best that way as I understand how sensitive API data is and the importance of security in Postman.

Thanks for the reply
