They should know so that they can automate, orchestrate, and syndicate your work using APIs, and help bring in more design business, and demand higher quality projects.
They should know that they should thinking in terms of APIs as they define and design their projects, breaking things up into smaller, more reusable models. No matter whether you are designing for print, web, mobile, kiosk, or other experience, APIs can be used to make your work more versatile, personalized, and dynamic it how its delivered.
