Question for Kin: What API-related project would you recommend for someone who’s just gotten started with APIs and coding?
Take a look at your mobile phone. Pick one of the icons you use most, and go find their API. If they don’t have an API, delete it from your mobile phone desktop and stop using it. If they do have an API, start playing around with their API, looking through their documentation, and understanding what people have done with it that interests you.
If you aren’t truly interested in what an API does, and the resources don’t mean anything to you, the chances you will learn and absorb anything is greatly diminished.
Start with what you care about.
