Postmanaut Snapchat/Twitch Filter + Zoom Backgrounds

During my recent Creative Exploration Days at Postman I decided to explore making animated assets that could be used in Zoom. With more people than ever working from home and meeting online I thought it was a great opportunity to expand our branded assets.

I made two Snapchat filters that can be used in Zoom, Twitch and the native Snapchat app. I also made two animated, looping backgrounds to be used as moving backgrounds in Zoom. Below are instructions for how to access and use them.

Using Snapchat Filters in Zoom
(Postmanaut Helmet, etc)

  1. Download SnapCamera > Snapchat for Web.
  2. Open SnapCamera
  3. click the cog on the top right
  4. Click the drop down under “choose your camera”
  5. Select the camera you’d like to use as your snap camera (likely the one built in to your computer)
  6. Ensure “Flip Video Preview” is off
  7. Go back to main Menu
  8. Click Search Lenses Bar
  9. Search for “Postmanaut”
  10. Select Desired Filter
  11. Open Zoom
  12. Click Zoom. us > Preferences >Video
  13. Click dropdown menu for “Camera”
  14. Select Snap Camera
  15. Filter is now enabled on Zoom
  16. Ensure “mirror my video” is unchecked
  17. To disable select prior camera selection
    1. ie FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in)

Using Snapchat Filters in Snapchat
(Postmanaut Helmet, etc)

  1. Download Snapchat for iOS/Android
  2. Open Snapchat
  3. Click smiley face icon next to shutter button to enable filters
  4. Swipe up from the middle of the screen
  5. In the top search bar search “Postmanaut”
  6. Select Desired Filter
  7. Use to take photos or videos, to share or download to your device

Snapchat Filters in Twitch
(Postmanaut Helmet, etc)

  1. Download SnapCamera > Snapchat for Web.
  2. click the cog on the top right
  3. Click the drop down under “choose your camera”
  4. Select the camera you’d like to use as your snap camera
  5. Ensure “Flip Video Preview” is off
  6. It should now be working

After that, you’ll need to add this as a video capture source in your streaming software.

To do that in SLOBS:

  1. click the + button in the “sources” panel
  2. select “video capture device”
  3. click the top drop down and select “snap cam”
  4. it is now added!

I’m so here for this. Too cool. Can it be used on Instagram too?

I’d love to see how others in the Community end up using this!

@webarmen4, what else are you curious about learning?

Any chance of a background for Microsoft Teams?
As Teams does appear to support using videos as background?
Could just be a solid black background with a orange Postman logo to one of the sides, and Postman written above the head in orange.
