Hello Folks!

I am Ali Mustufa, and I work for Pieces for Developers as a Senior Developer Advocate and below is my submission for POST/CON;

**FlowBot + PostGPT ** is a bot built 100% inside Postman to demonstrate the power of Postman to prototype an AI app without any servers! It was built by me and my friend Fardin.

  • FlowBot: Makes my life easy by answering repetitive questions around the GenAI 101 course I teach to hundreds of developers.

  • PostGPT: Provide ANY Postman public collection as a context into your favourite LLM and it allows you to chat and ask questions with it. Like an MCP but more!

Here is the Workspace:

Postman Products used:

  • Postbot : Life saver, at times I was stuck for hours because of a silly JSON issue Postbot solved it!
  • Postman Collaboration features: We did not communicate outside Postman, we used inline comments, updates and issues to collaborate better.
  • Postman Mock Server: I did not have my GenAI 101 content in an API format and hosting it was a pain right now, so we used mock servers to mimic it’s usage.
  • Postman Flow: This is where magic happened; both actual pieces were built here.
  • Postman AI Agent Builder: To prototype our work before we even got started, it took <1 min to set up using the AI agent builder.
  • And many more!!! We used almost all Postman features like scripting, documentation and more.

What stood out?

  • Just within 48 hours, I was able to build a prototype that I can deploy, all within Postman. People underestimate how powerful Postman is as a tool for us developers!
  • How powerful Postman’s collaboration features are! From communication to assigning tasks, it is a breeze.
