My Working Collection Setup
Thanks for asking, Danny! Here’s how I structured the Collection that powers my one‑click environment check:
Collection Structure:

Login Request → Grabs the auth token and stores it in an environment variable (auth_token).

Ping Environment → Simple GET request to /health endpoint, confirms connectivity.

Fetch User Profile → Uses the stored token to pull /me and validate the session.

Summary Script → Prints a quick pass/fail message in the Postman console.

How are you ensuring that the response payload contains the request structure and information? A 200 response code could also return incorrect data.
How are you measuring the time saved, how long has this process been in place and where are you redistributing those savings?

The layout does look similar to the Student Expert course because that structure actually helped me get organised, so I kept using the same style in my own workspace.
Just to explain the flow a bit better:
I kept running the same handful of checks manually whenever I needed to confirm everything was still working. That meant changing URLs by hand for different environments, updating headers, and sending each request one by one. It wasn’t complicated work but it ate up 20–30 minutes every time.
So I turned that into a small regression setup:

I grouped the checks I normally run into a collection.

I created Dev/Staging/Prod environments so I can switch context instantly.

I used Bulk Edit to clean up the shared headers all at once.

Then I attached the collection to a Monitor so the whole thing runs automatically on the Staging environment.
Now I just check the monitor summary instead of running everything by hand. It saves me quite a bit of time each month, which is why I thought it would be a good fit for the challenge.

Validating Payloads & Measuring Impact

Ensuring Payload Correctness: You’re right that a 200 OK isn’t enough. I added extra checks in my test scripts to validate the response structure and key fields:

This way, I know the payload matches the expected schema and values, not just that the request succeeded.
Measuring Time Saved:

Manual setup (login, token, health check, profile validation) used to take ~15 minutes each run.

Automated setup now takes ~15 seconds.

I run this weekly, so the workflow saves me ~30 minutes every week.
Duration & Redistribution: I’ve had this process in place for about a month. The time saved is reinvested into deeper regression testing and exploratory checks — instead of spending effort on setup, I can focus on catching edge‑case issues earlier.
