# Postman not starting - stuck on splash screen 'Preparing your workspaces'

Note: this is similar issue as [https://github.com/postmanlabs/postman-app-support/issues/6723](https://github.com/postmanlabs/postman-app-support/issues/6723), however that is quite dated and for a bug in version 7.2

I have the same issue with below versions:  
8.5.1 win64, 8.5.1 win32, 8.5.0 win64

I have uninstalled and reinstalled each of the above versions and each one stalls on the splash screen.

Same issue on Debian 11 Postman 9.6.0 on Flatpak. Reinstall with config deletion helps for one or two launches and then it stuck again.

It seems that switching back to 8.12.5 helps:

```bash
$ flatpak install com.getpostman.Postman
$ flatpak remote-info --log flathub com.getpostman.Postman

Commit: 2e682ac240bf789834f69a511a7adab7412f1ca59ca4eced5778f4cafc3232a2
       Subject: Update Postman.tar.gz to 8.12.5 (6b8cfd07)
       Date: 2021-11-17 16:47:32 +0000

$ flatpak update --commit=2e682ac240bf789834f69a511a7adab7412f1ca59ca4eced5778f4cafc3232a2 com.getpostman.Postman

```

They fixed it in v9.8.3. Patchnote:

> Fixed an issue where the app didn’t launch correctly after applying updates on the Linux platform.
